The year of the major artists issuing mediocre lazy albums in the vein of their back catalogues. So their fan base will be happy - but please try and push boundaries. Iron Maiden's Album (Final Frontier) this year was un inventive and sounded like a formulaic Iron Maiden Album (more so than any other I should clarify!)
Likewise Neil Young's Le Noise - firstly what a crap title. Secondly it brought nothing new to music. Have we entered a new late 1970's - when will a new punk explode on the scene?! Or is music becoming so cheap that nothing can be 'new'. Lady Gaga and many others don't seem to offer anything new - they just repackage the old and sell it to a younger generation. I am sure the punk demographic was late teens, Lady Gaga's must be pre teens?
