He was stylish and classy (in his guitar playing at least - although a friend of mine interviewed him a few times and said he was a gent as well). (Although he did look a state in that Over the Hills and Far Away video!)!
He was a left hander - but learnt to play guitar right handed - I don't know if this added to his style - but it certainly didn't hurt it! One of the best British blues rock guitarists ever.
Hugely influenced by Peter Green in 60's Belfast he also went on to work with Phil Lynott - both in Thin Lizzy and Solo.
Still able to turn on the charm with his guitar on more recent albums he really is worth listening to if you have not heard him. Some is a bit samey - but cherry pick what you like!
He will be missed.
